Mans best friend, almost half the world now has either a dog or cat in their homes and there is nothing cuter than a puppy. Imagine if you could have a dog that was forever the size and cuteness of a puppy then. Well check out these 10 tiniest dogs in the world.


The Pomeranian

The pomeranian look like tiny balls of fluffy cloud and they're just as cute dogs too.


They weigh around 4lbs and are one of the most popular breeds in the entire world. They are extremely lively so don't just expect this lap dog to sit on your lap, they have oodles of energy to brain every day.


The Papillon (pappy on)

The papillon (pappy on) is another breed with large strange ears that have strands of hair coming from there. they are extremely small in heigh and weight at 8lbs and 8 inches


They're depicted as far back as the 1500s in various paintings so their heritage is rich and vast in history.


The Brussels Griffin

The Brussels griffin has a clue to where its from in its name, and thats belgium. Another breed that was brought about to get rid of rats they have no problem voicing their opinion on matters.


They weigh just 8lbs but have very funny personalities that loves to be outdoors and chase things at every opportunity.


The Affenpinscher

The affenpinscher has a history way back to the 17th century in Germany and was used to keep kitchens vermin free as well as stables.


They weigh around 10lbs and have a large apetite for physical activity and lots of fun.


The Chihuahua

The chihuahua is arguably the most famous of the teacup dogs, having adorned the catwalks with celebrities for nearly a decade now. They average around 6lbs in weight.


They date back to Mexico around 300BC which means they're one of tghe oldest dog breeds ever.

The Japanese chin was bred for royalty in Asia and that's the reason it was kept small, so it could sit on the kings and queens laps.


Weight an average 7lbs and edging on the side of being an overly intelligent cat, it remains one of the worlds most loved small dogs.


The Maltese

The maltese is a tiny dog that can weigh as little as 2lbs and make great family dogs due to their good nature.


They've been bred to specifically be small and even originated a little large but breeders wanted them even smaller. You can theoretically fit this guy in your pocket.


The Russian Toy Terrier

The russian toy terrier is a strange looking guy with frilly hair dangling from its ears, which classes them as both short and long haired varieties


In height they are only 8 inches tall and were bred to fight rats, getting into places the larger dogs couldnt to get the rodents.


The Toy Fox Terrier

The toy fox terrier is a little less known in the mainstream than some of the others it still lists in the smallest dogs out there.


They weigh around 5lbs when fully grown and are no bigger than a work mans boots. They are extermely athletic and bred from terriers which mean they can be trained very well.


The Yorkshire Terrier

You'd struggle to believe that the Yorkshire Terrier is actually a hunting dog in its roots. Today its one of the most popular pets in the world.


The dog weighs around 7lbs when fully grown and can easily fit in the mould of trendy handbag dog amongst many but despite their size they still require the maintenance of a larger dog, just smaller poops!
